A bridge in Netherton which was daubed with the words ‘Astle Is The King’ after he scored the winning goal for West Bromwich Albion in the 1968 F A Cup Final has been given a makeover. The graffiti has often been removed only for it to reappear almost overnight. Now, over 50 years later, a permanent name plate has been added to the bridge by Dudley Council formalising the name and saving fans from needing to continually daub the bridge with countless cans of paint!
