The Throstle Club
The Throstle Club is a new programme produced by Black Country Radio Xtra and presented by Norman Bartlam and Bob Downing. It is a monthly programme which looks back on the long and proud history of West Bromwich Albion featuring interviews with former players and reminiscences from supporters of the club.
Programme 1 produced in May 2023 looks at key events from May in days gone by including the 1968 F A Cup Final at Wembley, Albion’s promotion play-off of May 1993 and Tony Brown’s England cap in 1971. There is also a feature on The Three Degrees statue that was erected in West Bromwich in May 2019 and Bob talks about his days working as a journalist on The Sports Argus.
