This edition of Doorstep History comes to you from The Roundhouse, the former stables on Sheepcote Street. We look at the history of the building and learn about the exciting plans for the future. A recent visitor to the stables was Joey, best known as the star of the Hippodrome’s stage production of Warhorse, a drama based on the novel by Michael Morpurgo. We also visit Northfield Library to see the unveiling of a Birmingham Civic Society History plaque commemorating the centenary of the day when some women were given the right to vote. Youngsters from St George’s School, Ladywood begin our new series called ‘Memory Minute’ as they recall their early memories.
