Metro extension fully open
Metro trams started running from Grand Central on Bank Holiday Monday 31 May 2016, so completing the extension from Snow Hill and Bull Street.
The day the Queen made an Easter visit to Birmingham
25 years ago at Easter 1989 the Queen visited St Philip’s Cathedral on Colmore Row to distribute the Maundy Money. This is special coinage which the monarch distributes to retired people in recognition of their service to the church. Ladywood School News (now TNT News) compiled this special report.
