
On Sunday morning 6 December 2015 trams ran on the streets of Birmingham for first time since 1953. The city once had a fleet of 843 trams but these were phased out as the bus system took over. Now nearly 60 years later the trams have returned as the Midland Metro track was extended from Snow Hill to Bull Street. Early next year the line will be extended to Grand Central and New Street Station. December 2015
