Birmingham’s Boer War memorial was rededicated in December 2012 in a ceremony held in Cannon Hill Park. Olympic bronze medallist, Kristian Thomas, returned home to Earl’s Gymnastic Club in Halesowen on 21 August 2012. He was mobbed by an enthusiastic crowd and appeared live on BBC Midlands Today.
